Product Engineering and Inside Sales Representative
Cambridge, Ontario
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Hybrid
Position Summary:
The Product Engineering and Inside Sales Representative is responsible for winning and maintaining business by assessing customer requests,
determining what solutions can be manufactured by Kromet, primarily aluminum extrusion and aluminum extruded products, and presenting them as a quotation.
They will liaise with Production, Engineering, Sales, Procurement Team members and trusted vendors to put forward the most viable,
technically sound and cost-effective solutions that can be offered.
Requests For Quote, RFQ, may come via phone, written notes, email or customer portals and may consist of part descriptions, engineering drawings,
specifications, quantities, due dates, launch dates and program durations. Records of correspondence and milestones are to be maintained,
executed on and readily available to Kromet Teams.
Creativity, technical aptitude, persistence, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate verbally and by detailed written
correspondence are paramount for success.
Responsibility Summary:
- Promote a safe, inclusive and collaborative environment by practicing respect and fairness
- Define project scope with customer by interpreting drawings, specifications, EAUs and timelines
- Liaise between customer, Kromet Teams and vendors to assess, cost, develop and engineer solutions
- Map manufacturing process that meets product requirements
- Deliver accurate on time quotations encompassing extrusion and value add servicesFollow up on quotations to ensure accuracy and win business
- Receive, error proof, and process initial Purchase Orders
- Produce manufacturing routings
- Provide risk assessments and Bill of Materials, BOM, information as necessary
- Maintain records for applicable Advanced Product Quality Planning, APQP
- Maintain quote model under the direction of Finance and Sales Teams
- Perform assigned duties and projects as required
- Specific duties available for review
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum diploma or certificate in a technical discipline or ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- A minimum of 3 years work experience ideally in a technical sales capacity
- Experience in a customer facing environment would be an asset
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles, specific to aluminum extrusion and associated value add services, would be of benefit
- Possess an understanding of the principles, methods, and strategies used for promotion, sales, and business development
- High proficiency in MS office; including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills (oral and written English), time management, and interpersonal skills
- A positive, self-motivated and energetic team player attitude with a willingness to work independently
- Detail orientated with strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
